I am getting ready to have uterine fibroids surgically removed and just started taking yunnan baiyao. 2 caps 4x per day. The surgery is less than a week away.
I have been taking herbs to build blood and qi but think there might be something in the mix for stagnation as well. My concern is about taking something that might thin my blood. I need to do whatever I can to keep bleeding to a minimum.
Here's what is in the current mix:
si wu tang 40%
si jun zi tang 30%
gui pi tang 30%

You should probably get off the herbs and most supplements about 3 days prior to surgery. And may be able to get back on about 4 days after. However, you should check with your Chinese Medicine practicioner to monitor you and possibly prescribe a different formula after surgery. I would advise not getting back on the herbs before speaking to your practicioner.
Also, get off all oils (vitamin e, fish oils... etc.)
Good luck to you...!
