Re: Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley
Sat, March 25, 2006 - 12:29 AMHi Tania -
I don't know anything about the college but I do know Yoon Kim, the new directer. I knew him from when he did his post doctorate program in Tucson with Andrew Weil. I always enjoyed talking with him and had a high respect for his knowledge. I think integrative medicine is a great way to go.

Re: Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley
Sat, March 25, 2006 - 7:14 PMHey Tania!
I am currently a student at AIMC and I like it very much. I really like my teachers, the environment, my classmates, and the city. My only problem is that I live in San Francisco and commuting to and from Berkeley has been a total nightmare. Driving or Barting are both on the expensive side since I have to pay the darn bridge toll fee. Plus all that commuting is time consuming. But, if you live in the East Bay you won't have to deal with all that traffic.
If you are planning on getting financial aid be prepared to wait along time for it. They're kinda behind in that department. Just make sure you have all your paperwork filled out correctly and turned in on time.
Good luck!

Re: Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley
Fri, May 12, 2006 - 12:32 PMi was all set to transfer from PCOM in san diego to there because i loved it so much. but some significant other issues arose and things didn't work out. but it's still my top choice for schools. i went to visit and was impressed by how small the school and class sizes were, how much all the students i talked to enjoyed their time there as well as their clinical experience, and the easy to get to from BART location. their library is horribly lacking, especially compared to PCOM, but their clinic is superior and i also think the caliber of the teachers is better for the most part. If i were you, i would go for it!! also, it's in the bay area, which kicks san diego's ass any day.
